Feeding America provides food to food banks who then distribute the food to local food pantries and community organizations. Use the Find your Local Food Bank tool to find local food near you. Food Bank Council of Michigan
The Food Bank Council of Michigan connects Michiganders to nearby food banks, local food programs, and food assistance resources in all Michigan counties. Call 888-544-8773 (available Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) for their statewide food line, which is available in over 240 languages. Learn more.
Little Free Pantry
The Little Free Pantry movement offers small, community-based pantries stocked by neighbors for neighbors. It’s a grassroots way for people living in the United States and Canada to share food and essential items with those who need them most. There are many popping up across Michigan, just tap “Locations” from the website menu and search by city, state, or zip code. If you have a neighborhood pantry, you can also add it to the map. Salvation Army
Salvation Army food pantries provide emergency food and nutrition support to low-income individuals and families at no cost. Designed to help supplement daily meals, their programs ensure that no one goes hungry. Depending on the location and available resources, eligible participants may receive prepackaged food boxes or have the opportunity to choose their own groceries at client-choice pantry sites. Michiganders who receive food assistance can buy food online using their SNAP/EBT/Bridge Card at participating Michigan retailers. Learn more.
