This website includes tips and ideas on how to stretch your food dollars.

Due to the partial federal government shutdown, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will issue March and April food assistance benefits early. You can check your benefits balance via the telephone number or website address on the back of your Bridge Card, or by accessing your account at www.michigan.gov/mibridges. Planning ahead and economizing will be important for all individuals and families receiving SNAP benefits.

Since SNAP benefits for February have already been issued, right now might be a time where you, or someone you know, needs support. If you need help with food today you can search for a local food bank, or search for a local food pantry

To make sure you’re covered in the months ahead, here is a list of programs for which you may be eligible, including some specifically for children and mothers and seniors.
